Seven-Day NSS Camp Ends with Cultural Performances and Awards at BBAU

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal encourages experiential learning and social engagement among youth

The seven-day special camp organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University concluded on Saturday with a vibrant valedictory ceremony. The camp, held from March 9 to March 15, brought together student volunteers for social service, awareness campaigns, and community engagement activities.
VC Emphasizes Experiential Learning
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Mittal emphasized that education should go beyond classroom learning. He said that experiential learning through social engagement helps students understand real-life challenges and societal issues.
He encouraged students to actively participate in such initiatives and stressed that planned and dedicated efforts can bring positive change both in personal lives and society. Prof. Mittal also highlighted the importance of maintaining mental strength and inner purity along with physical and intellectual growth.
Camp Highlights
Earlier, NSS Coordinator Dr. Pawan Kumar Chaurasia welcomed the guests and introduced the objectives of the special camp. Dr. Arpit Shailesh presented a detailed report of the seven-day activities, highlighting community outreach programmes, awareness campaigns, and volunteer participation.
A special documentary video created by NSS volunteers was also screened, showcasing the camp’s activities and community initiatives, which received appreciation from the dignitaries.
Yoga and Tribal Dance Steal the Show
Adding a cultural touch to the ceremony, NSS volunteers presented a unique Yoga Dance performance, blending yoga postures with dance to promote the message of health and positivity.
A tribal dance performance reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage also captivated the audience. Participants later shared their experiences, noting that the camp helped them understand values of service, discipline, teamwork, and social responsibility.
Volunteers Honoured
During the ceremony, winners of various competitions held during the camp were felicitated with medals and certificates.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Meena Vishweshwar, in the presence of faculty members, non-teaching staff, NSS volunteers, and students.
