Ph.D. Exam Clash Alert: ABVP Pushes Lucknow University to Reschedule Dates

UPPSC Main Exam Overlaps with Ph.D. Entrance, Students Demand Fair Chance

At the exams season near, several students of Lucknow University are facing a clash between the Ph.D. entrance exams and the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) Main Exam. Many candidates intending to appear in both risk missing one, affecting their academic and professional future. In between The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Lucknow University unit, today submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor, requesting a rescheduling of the Ph.D. entrance exams. The exams, set for March 30–31, clash with the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) Main Exam, scheduled from March 29 to April 1, affecting students appearing in both.
ABVP emphasized that this is more than a scheduling conflict — it impacts students’ academic and professional futures. Many may be forced to skip one exam, limiting opportunities and morale.
Student Leaders’ Stand
Aman Dubey, State University Coordinator, said, “The university has always prioritized students’ interests and should address this clash promptly.” Metropolitan Joint Secretary Arpit highlighted the practical challenges, while Unit Joint Secretary Shivam Singh noted ABVP’s ongoing commitment to student welfare.
VC Assures Action
The Vice-Chancellor assured that the matter is being taken seriously and that a practical solution will be explored to avoid inconvenience to students. The representatives of ABVP expressed confidence that fair opportunities will be ensured for all candidates.
During the submission of the memorandum, several student representatives were present, including District Coordinator Abhishek Singh, Virat Pandey, Vartika Kushwaha, Adarsh, Raghvendra, Mayank, Divyansh Awasthi, Shivansh Saxena, Rituraj, Amarnath, Rahul, Utkarsh, Siddharth, Rajan Tiwari, Abhishek Yadav, Anchal, along with many other students.
