Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has approved a massive budget of ₹1187.62 crore for the upcoming financial year, setting the stage for cutting-edge technological advancement on campus.

Chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. J.P. Pandey, the Finance Committee meeting cleared an ambitious proposal to establish four state-of-the-art Centres of Excellence. These centres will focus on high-demand domains including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Space Technology, and Cyber Forensic Investigation Technology.

Tech-Driven Vision for Youth

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and students, making advanced learning more accessible and industry-relevant for youth across the state.

₹150 Crore AI Centre in Focus

A major highlight of the plan is the ₹150 crore allocation for a dedicated AI Centre of Excellence, designed to boost innovation, research, and skill development in one of the fastest-growing global sectors.

Infrastructure & Mobility Boost

The committee also approved procurement of buses, ambulances, and official vehicles to strengthen campus infrastructure and support key institutions like the Centre for Advanced Studies, Faculty of Architecture & Planning, and Institute of Engineering & Technology.

Key Officials Present

The proposals were presented by Finance Officer Keshav Singh, with senior officials including Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajeev Kumar, Registrar Reena Singh, and other academic leaders in attendance.
