Lucknow’s Aryakul College Leads World TB Day Awareness with Creative Student Campaign

From street plays to digital posters, students champion the fight to end tuberculosis

With tuberculosis still posing a serious public health challenge, awareness has become the first step towards elimination. Aryakul College of Pharmacy and Research turned World Tuberculosis Day into a powerful awareness movement, as students and faculty came together under the theme “Yes! We Can End TB!” to spread knowledge and inspire action.

Opening the event, Dr. Sashakt Singh said timely diagnosis and full treatment can defeat TB, urging students to drive awareness and help save lives.

Creativity Meets Cause

The campus buzzed with energy during a skit competition led by Ali Hussain and Shweta Mishra. Through compelling performances, students portrayed the real challenges faced by TB patients and the importance of sticking to proper treatment. Shivam Pandey and Raj Singh bagged the first prize, while Salim Ahmad and Arya Gupta secured second place. The third position was shared by Harshit Tiwari, Vasu Maurya, Mangesh Prajapati, and Rahul Kumar.

Going Digital for Impact

Taking the campaign online, a poster-making competition under Deepika Kumari and Prashansa Singh saw students using creativity to spread TB awareness across social media. Harshit Tiwari emerged as the winner, followed by Ayush and Mangesh Prajapati.

A Collective Resolve

The event wrapped up with a strong pledge to build a TB-free society. Head of Department Bal Krishna Singh applauded the initiative and emphasized the critical role of healthcare professionals in controlling the disease.
