The Department of Biotechnology at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) organized a lecture session and a series of student competitions to mark International Immunology Day, bringing together leading experts and young minds under one platform.

Expert Insights on Health and Immunity

The session featured Dr. Mukesh Pasupuleti, Chief Scientist at the Central Drug Research Institute, as the Chief Guest, along with Dr. Ravi Shankar Singh from SGPGI, Lucknow, as Guest of Honour. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pasupuleti emphasized the importance of a healthy lifestyle, noting that balanced nutrition, regular exercise, adequate sleep, and a positive mindset are key to strengthening the immune system.

Dr. Ravi Shankar Singh highlighted the impact of irregular eating habits and lifestyle choices on modern health issues. He stressed the need for mindful eating, portion control, and avoiding unnecessary snacking to prevent lifestyle-related diseases.

Prof. D.R. Modi, Head of the Department, underscored the significance of timely vaccinations and maintaining proper health records, while Program Convenor Dr. G. Sunil Babu spoke about the department’s ongoing efforts to promote health awareness through interactive activities.

Competitions Encourage Creativity

To engage students, competitions including poster making, rangoli, quiz, and model presentations were conducted across junior and senior categories. Participants displayed creativity and innovation, and winners were awarded certificates and medals.

The event witnessed active participation from students, researchers, faculty, and school attendees, reinforcing the message of building a healthier and more aware society.
