The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the Class 12 Board Result 2026 in the third week of May, following the completion of the evaluation process. Students who appeared for the examinations will be able to check their marks online using their roll number and school credentials.

According to reports, CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj indicated that the results are likely to be declared in the third week of May. Several media reports have also suggested that the result may be released between May 12 and May 15, 2026. However, the board has not yet officially confirmed the exact date and time.

Result Expected Based on Previous Trends

CBSE’s result pattern over the past few years suggests that students can expect the announcement around mid-May. In 2025 and 2024, the board declared Class 12 results on May 13, while in 2023, the results were announced on May 12.

CBSE Lucknow City Coordinator Dr. Jawaid Alam Khan said that the online copy-checking process is progressing rapidly. He added that digital evaluation ensures transparency and speeds up the result preparation process. The board is expected to declare the results soon after the checking work concludes.

Exams Conducted Between February and April

The CBSE Class 12 board examinations for the academic session 2025-26 were conducted from February 17 to April 10, 2026. The board completed the assessment process through an on-screen marking system.

Students should note that the online marksheets available immediately after the declaration will be provisional. Original marksheets and certificates will later be distributed through respective schools.

To download the provisional marksheet, candidates will need to enter their roll number, school number, and other required login credentials.

How to Check Result Through SMS

CBSE will also offer the result through SMS services for students facing internet issues.

Students need to type:

CBSE12 (Roll Number) (Date of Birth) (School Number) (Centre Number)

and send the message to 7738299899.

The date of birth must be entered in DDMMYYYY format. After verification, students will receive their subject-wise marks through SMS.

DigiLocker and IVRS Facilities Also Available

Students can download their digital marksheets through DigiLocker by logging into the platform with their credentials. Aadhaar details must be synced before accessing documents.

CBSE will also provide results through the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). Students can dial 24300699 along with their area code to receive result details. Calls will be charged at 30 paisa per minute for a single roll number.
