Karamat Hussain College files police complaint after alleged vandalism during exam fee collection

Tension erupted on campus after a dispute over second-semester examination fees allegedly led to vandalism, threats, and misconduct with a female employee

A tense situation unfolded at Karamat Husain Muslim Girls P.G. College in Nishatganj on Wednesday after a dispute over second-semester examination fees allegedly escalated into vandalism and misconduct inside the college campus.

According to the college administration, students of the first year second semester were depositing examination fees at the college office on May 20 as per the prescribed process. Official receipts were also being issued to students during the fee submission process.

The administration stated that students had already been informed that the fee deposited at the time of admission covered only the first semester examination, while the second semester examination fee was to be paid separately.

During the process, some students reportedly objected to the fee collection and allegedly called a person identified as Shailendra Yadav to the campus. College authorities alleged that the individual entered the premises around 11 am and created chaos at Cash Counter No. 1 inside the office.

Female employee allegedly misbehaved with during campus chaos

The administration further claimed that the glass installed at the counter was damaged during the incident and that a female employee posted in the office was subjected to misbehavior and verbal abuse. The situation allegedly created panic and fear among staff members and students present on the campus.

College authorities also alleged that threats were issued during the incident, including warnings of setting the college premises on fire. The incident reportedly caused damage to college property and disrupted the academic atmosphere.

Following the episode, Principal Prof. Huma Khwaja submitted a written complaint to the Kotwali Mahanagar police station seeking legal action against the accused individuals.

In the complaint, the principal stated that Shailendra Yadav and several unidentified persons entered the campus without permission, obstructed official work, vandalised college property and behaved inappropriately with a female employee.

College administration demands strict legal action

The college administration has demanded strict legal action to ensure such incidents are not repeated in the future and to maintain safety and discipline within the institution.
