Lucknow University has expelled a student, Satyam Yadav (LLM, IVth Semester), with immediate effect and barred him from seeking admission in the university or any of its affiliated colleges in the future, following allegations of repeated misconduct and disciplinary violations.
The decision was approved by Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of the Proctorial Board and the Dean of Student Welfare after an inquiry report was submitted on June 8.
According to university authorities, Satyam had previously been suspended for conduct deemed inconsistent with student discipline. Despite the suspension, he allegedly entered the university’s Second Campus and the Homi Jehangir Bhabha Hostel without authorization on May 21, 2026.
The inquiry report further alleged that he attempted to oppose and disrupt activities related to an inspection visit by a team from the Bar Council of India on the same day. University officials also accused him of circulating misleading and false information about the institution through various social media platforms, actions that they said adversely affected campus discipline and administrative functioning.
The report additionally referred to an incident on February 19, 2025, when Satyam allegedly circulated a WhatsApp message stating that he would climb a water tank carrying petrol if he did not receive justice before a specified deadline. Authorities said the message created concern and led to difficulties for both university and police officials.
Another allegation relates to the same date, when he and several associates allegedly entered the Subhash Hostel premises by scaling a boundary wall adjacent to the university campus.
The university also cited an incident dated August 19, 2025, in which Satyam was accused of using abusive language while speaking to the Chief Proctor and allegedly issuing threats while leaving the office. Officials said the incident disrupted routine administrative work and affected the functioning of the institution.
The expulsion order has come into force immediately, with the university maintaining that the action was necessary to preserve campus discipline, administrative order, and the institution’s academic environment.
