BBAU opens B.Tech admissions for 2026–27 through JEE Main; registration starts June 17

150 seats available across five engineering disciplines; vacant seats to be filled through CUET-based merit later

Students aspiring to pursue engineering at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) can now apply for admission to the University’s B.Tech programmes for the 2026–27 academic session. The University has announced that admissions under the first phase will be conducted exclusively on the basis of JEE Main scores, subject to the prescribed eligibility requirements.

The online admission process will begin on June 17 and continue until July 8. During this period, candidates will be required to complete registration and lock their preferred course choices through the University’s admission portal.

Registration fee and application timeline

As per the admission schedule, candidates belonging to the General, OBC and EWS categories will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 1,000, while the fee for SC and ST candidates has been fixed at Rs 500.

University officials have advised applicants to complete the registration process within the stipulated timeline and carefully select their programme preferences before the deadline.

150 seats across five engineering branches

For the 2026–27 academic session, BBAU will offer admission to a total of 150 B.Tech seats through JEE Main. The seats are distributed equally among five engineering departments, with each branch having an intake of 30 students.

The programmes include:

• Civil Engineering

• Computer Science and Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

• Electronics and Communication Engineering

• Mechanical and Automobile Engineering

CUET to fill vacant and remaining seats

The University has also outlined the admission plan for seats that remain unfilled after the JEE Main counselling process. Such vacancies will be filled through CUET merit in accordance with the institution’s reservation policy.

In addition, the remaining 50 per cent of seats will also be allotted through CUET-based admissions. A separate notification detailing the CUET admission process is expected to be issued by the University in the coming weeks.
