BBAU hindi literature course goes live on SWAYAM, expanding digital learning access

Developed by the University’s Hindi Department and Media Centre, the programme offers a comprehensive exploration of modern Hindi literary traditions

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, has added another achievement to its digital education portfolio with the launch of its online course, History of Hindi Literature (Modern Period), on the Government of India’s SWAYAM platform.

The course has been developed through a collaborative effort between BBAU’s Department of Hindi and the Electronic Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC)/Media Centre, making quality academic content on Hindi literature accessible to learners across India and abroad.

The programme covers the evolution of modern Hindi literature, major literary personalities, key movements, emerging trends, and various literary genres. Designed for students, researchers, teachers, and literature enthusiasts, the course combines video lectures, study materials, quizzes, and assessments to support flexible learning.

Strengthening digital education

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal described the launch as a reflection of the university’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and technology-enabled learning. He said initiatives on the SWAYAM platform help widen access to quality education while advancing the vision of “learning anytime, anywhere.”

Prof. Gopal Singh, Director (In-charge), Media Centre, said the successful rollout of the course demonstrates BBAU’s growing contribution to digital education and its emphasis on maintaining academic quality in online learning initiatives.
