The ongoing indefinite sit-in protest at Lucknow University over issues of fee hike, alleged corruption, academic irregularities, and the expulsion of protesting students has gained fresh momentum after receiving support from senior representatives of the Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha and Samajwadi Shikshak Sabha.

On Wednesday, National President of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha Dr. Imran and National Vice President of Samajwadi Shikshak Sabha and Yash Bharti awardee Manendra Mishra “Mashal” visited the protest site and met the expelled student leaders, including Prem Prakash, Prince Prakash, and Harshit Shukla, along with other protesting students.

Both leaders extended their support to the agitating students, terming their demands justified and criticizing the university administration’s approach. Dr. Imran stated that raising concerns over fee increases, corruption, and academic mismanagement is a democratic right of students. He further alleged that expelling students instead of addressing their concerns reflects an undemocratic and repressive attitude by the administration. He demanded immediate reinstatement of the expelled students and constructive action on the issues raised.

Manendra Mishra emphasized that a university is defined not just by its infrastructure but by its students, teachers, and democratic values. He said that resolving issues through dialogue instead of punitive measures is essential for maintaining the dignity of the education system. He also described the ongoing protest as a broader struggle for educational justice and social fairness.

The sit-in continues with participation from several student representatives, including Mahendra Kumar Yadav, Atul Shukla, Harish Rawat, Akhilesh Yadav, Tauqeer Gazi, Vipul Yadav, Savita Gautam, Shiva Ji Yadav, Shubham Kharwar, Himanshu Sangharshi, Mohit Pal and others.
