Students and researchers at Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University will now have direct access to advanced space science learning modules under the outreach programmes of Indian Space Research Organisation, opening new pathways for skill development in emerging scientific domains.

The university has been designated as a nodal centre for ISRO’s National Educational Outreach initiatives, enabling regular participation in specialised training programmes designed to build expertise in satellite technology, Earth observation, remote sensing, geospatial analysis, digital mapping, environmental monitoring, and disaster management applications.

These programmes are conducted by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, a premier institute under ISRO that provides structured learning through both online and offline modes. Students and faculty will be able to directly engage with scientific experts and access practical, application-oriented knowledge in space and geospatial technologies.

To streamline participation, a faculty member from the university’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology has been appointed as the nodal coordinator for the initiative.

University administration stated that the collaboration is expected to enhance scientific thinking and research orientation among students while improving their exposure to national-level academic and technological platforms.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Singh highlighted that ISRO’s outreach initiatives provide valuable opportunities for learners to connect with leading scientists and strengthen their understanding of advanced space applications. He added that the university aims to ensure maximum student participation to foster innovation and a strong research-driven academic environment on campus.
