Environmental Sustainability, an international journal published by Springer Nature and led by Prof. Naveen Kumar Arora of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, has achieved a major milestone by securing an Impact Factor of 4.6, according to the latest Clarivate (Web of Science) rankings.

Launched in 2018, the journal has rapidly built a strong reputation in the global environmental research community. Its latest Impact Factor places it among India’s leading journals in environmental and biological sciences, reflecting growing international citations and academic influence.

The publication is currently indexed in major global databases and holds a Q2 ranking in both Web of Science and Scopus. Notably, its Impact Factor has risen from 3.0 in 2024 to 4.6 in 2026, highlighting its steady growth and increasing research impact.

Under Prof. Arora’s leadership, the journal has focused on publishing high-quality, sustainability-driven research aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It serves as a multidisciplinary platform connecting environmental science, biology, engineering and policy research.

BBAU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal termed the achievement significant for both the university and the broader research community, noting the journal’s contribution to advancing sustainability-focused scholarship.
