The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the release of Class 12 re-evaluation and verification results for a large number of students who applied for post-result review processes. According to the board, outcomes for more than 87 per cent of the nearly 1.6 lakh applications received have already been declared, while the remaining cases are being processed and will be released in phases.

Students who sought verification of marks, requested photocopies of evaluated answer sheets, or applied for re-evaluation can access their updated results through the designated online platforms. 

Results being released in phases

CBSE clarified that the review process involves multiple stages and that results are being published in batches. Students whose updated marks are not yet visible have been advised to remain patient, as the remaining applications are expected to be cleared shortly.

The board reiterated that strict evaluation guidelines were followed during the verification and re-evaluation exercise. The objective, it said, is to provide students with a fair mechanism to address any discrepancies that may have occurred during the initial assessment process.

Marks may increase or decrease after re-evaluation

While many students apply for re-evaluation hoping for an increase in marks, CBSE has reminded candidates that revised scores can move in either direction. If the review process leads to a reduction in marks, the revised score will be treated as final.

Officials have clarified that even a change of one mark, whether upward or downward, will be reflected in the final record. Fresh mark sheets will be issued based on the updated results wherever applicable.

Board warns against rumours

CBSE has urged students and parents to rely only on official sources for updates related to the re-evaluation process. The board cautioned against misinformation and unverified claims circulating on social media platforms regarding result announcements and score revisions.

Students are advised to regularly check official CBSE channels and the DigiLocker portal for updates on pending applications and any further instructions related to the post-result review process.
