AKTU to launch BBA programme at Lucknow campus, admissions for 60 seats

The university is expanding its on campus academic portfolio while preparing to begin admissions for CUET UG based undergraduate programmes in the coming weeks.

In a major academic expansion, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will introduce a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme at its Lucknow campus from the 2026–27 academic session. The newly launched undergraduate programme will have an intake of 60 seats, marking another step in the university efforts to diversify its on campus academic offerings beyond technical education.
The university already offers an MBA programme with an intake of 60 students, and admissions for the postgraduate course are expected to begin shortly.
Focus on better utilisation of campus infrastructure
According to AKTU Vice Chancellor Prof. J.P. Pandey, the introduction of the BBA programme is aimed at ensuring better utilisation of the university existing academic infrastructure, including classrooms and other institutional resources. The initiative is also expected to strengthen the university presence in undergraduate management education.
The university is also preparing to begin admissions for several undergraduate and integrated programmes based on CUET UG 2026 scores. These include BPharm, PharmD, BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, BBA, BCA, BVoc, and integrated MBA and MCA programmes.
AKTU has stated that if seats remain vacant after the CUET UG based admission rounds, eligible candidates who have passed Class 12 may be considered for direct admission, subject to the university admission guidelines.
Meanwhile, the admission process for BTech programmes across AKTU affiliated colleges is progressing steadily. The registration window remained open until June 30, during which more than one lakh candidates registered for counselling. Of these, over 72,000 applicants completed the registration process by paying the counselling fee.
The counselling process will now move to the next stage, with choice filling continuing until July 4, followed by the first round of seat allotment on July 9.
Registration deadline extended after CUET UG results
Prof. Pandey said the registration deadline was extended until June 30 following the declaration of the CUET UG results. The university also received requests from candidates who faced difficulties generating their APAAR ID. In response, additional time was provided to enable applicants to complete the registration process.
With the registration process now complete, AKTU will proceed with counselling, choice filling and seat allotment according to the notified admission schedule.
