The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the results of the National Eligibility cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2026, bringing an end to the wait for lakhs of medical aspirants across the country. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now download their scorecards from the official NEET website, neet.nta.nic.in.

The results were declared shortly after the release of the final answer key for the re examination conducted in June. The announcement ensures that the medical admission and counselling process will remain on schedule for the 2026 academic session.

This year, Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana jointly secured the highest score of 715 out of 720, emerging as the national toppers of NEET UG 2026.

According to the NTA, the top 17 candidates, each scoring above 705 marks, represent eight states, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana, highlighting a broad geographical distribution among the countrys highest achievers.

More Than 11.25 Lakh Candidates Qualify

A total of 11.25 lakh candidates have qualified for NEET UG 2026. Notably, more than 58 percent of the qualified candidates are women, reflecting the growing participation and success of female aspirants in medical entrance examinations.

The NTA also stated that 138 candidates scored above 690 marks, with more than 93 percent of them appearing for NEET UG for the first time.

To facilitate easy access to examination records, the agency has stored scanned copies of candidates original OMR answer sheets and scorecards on DigiLocker, enabling students to retrieve their documents securely during the admission process.

Counselling Process to Begin Soon

With the declaration of the results, attention now shifts to the NEET UG 2026 counselling process. The NTA stated that announcing the results on time will help ensure that admissions to MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical programmes proceed without delay.

Candidates are advised to keep all required documents ready and regularly check the official website for updates on counselling schedules, seat allocation, and admission procedures.
