Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, has invited applications for admission to its One Year LL.M. Programme for the academic session 2026–27 through the Centre of Post Graduate Legal Studies. The University has introduced a merit based admission process that evaluates candidates on both their entrance examination performance and academic profile.

The final merit list will be prepared by assigning 70 percent weightage to the entrance examination and 30 percent weightage to the candidate overall academic profile, including the Statement of Purpose (SoP), internship or work experience, and research publications.

Under the 30 mark evaluation component, candidates can earn up to 10 marks for internships or work experience. Internships completed with a National Commission will carry 5 marks, while those undertaken with a State Commission will fetch 3 marks.

Another 10 marks have been allocated for research publications. Papers published in Scopus indexed international journals or e journals will receive the highest weightage of 8 marks each. Publications in peer reviewed or UGC CARE listed national journals will be awarded 5 marks each, while research work published in ISBN registered books or book chapters will carry 4 marks each. Candidates must submit documentary proof supporting the publication category claimed.

The remaining 10 marks will be awarded based on the Statement of Purpose (SoP). The University has clarified that the admission process will be conducted in accordance with the UGC Guidelines for the One Year LL.M. Programme.

To be eligible, applicants must hold either a three year or five year LL.B. degree. Candidates in the General category must have secured at least 50 percent marks in the qualifying examination, while SC, ST and PwD candidates require a minimum of 45 percent marks.

As per BBAU Admission Policy 2026–27, 50 percent of the seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates, 10 percent for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and 5 percent for Persons with Disabilities (PwD). Reservation will be implemented in accordance with the University existing rules, with vacant SC/ST seats remaining interchangeable between the two categories.

In case of a tie in the final merit list, preference will be given to the candidate who has secured higher marks in the qualifying LL.B. examination.

The University has directed applicants to submit all documents required for the 30 percent evaluation component via e mail by 6:00 PM on July 22, 2026. Candidates have also been advised to regularly visit the BBAU website for admission related updates and notifications.
