Lucknow University has announced the official dress code for its 69th Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to be held on July 31, making ceremonial attire mandatory for faculty members, university officials, students and all dignitaries participating in the event.
The guidelines, issued by Registrar Dr Bhavana Mishra, prescribe a coordinated traditional dress code aimed at ensuring uniformity and maintaining the ceremonial decorum of one of the university most significant academic events.
Male faculty members and university officials have been asked to wear a white long kurta, white churidar pyjama with a narrow hem, a maroon jacket, and black formal shoes. Female faculty members and officials will be required to wear a cream saree with a golden border, a cream blouse, a maroon jacket, and black formal footwear.
For students, the university has also specified separate ceremonial attire. Male students will wear a maroon kurta, cream churidar pyjama, black formal shoes, and a cream satin stole featuring a maroon border. Female students may choose between a maroon kurta paired with a cream salwar or churidar (along with a dupatta or hijab, where applicable) or a maroon saree, complemented by black formal shoes and a cream stole with a golden border.
The university has also designated ceremonial stoles for the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, honorary degree recipients, the Registrar, and members of the Academic Council and Executive Council, in keeping with their respective roles during the convocation.
To facilitate preparations, ceremonial stoles for faculty members will be distributed on July 29 and 30 through the offices of the respective Heads of Departments.
The university has directed all participants to strictly adhere to the prescribed dress code to ensure a dignified and well coordinated convocation ceremony.
