Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has invited applications for 358 Graduate Apprentice Trainee (Engineering) positions for the 2026–27 training session. The recruitment drive offers engineering graduates an opportunity to gain industry experience with one of Indias leading public sector oil and gas companies.

A key highlight of the recruitment is that no written examination will be conducted. Candidates will be shortlisted purely on the basis of their academic performance in their engineering degree, followed by document verification and the publication of a final merit list.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants should be between 18 and 25 years of age. Age relaxation, if applicable, will be governed by the provisions mentioned in the official notification.

Selection process

The selection process will be conducted in the following stages:

• Merit-based shortlisting based on engineering degree marks

• Document verification

• Release of the final merit list

Since there is no written examination or interview, academic performance will play a crucial role in the final selection.

Stipend details

Selected Graduate Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 25,000, comprising:

• Rs 20,500 contributed by HPCL

• Rs 4,500 provided by the Government of India through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism
