The Lucknow University unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the universitys Chief Warden, urging the administration to immediately begin the hostel re allocation process for eligible students.

The student organisation argued that despite undergraduate and postgraduate classes already being in progress, the university has yet to open applications for hostel re allotment. According to ABVP, the delay has left a large number of students from distant districts and other states struggling to secure affordable accommodation, compelling many to stay in private rented facilities at significantly higher costs.

Highlighting the impact on students, ABVP said the prolonged uncertainty is not only increasing their financial burden but is also affecting their academic focus and overall campus experience.

Speaking on the issue, ABVP Lucknow University Unit Secretary Aryan Kushwaha said hostels are an essential part of the academic ecosystem, providing students with a secure and conducive environment for learning. He urged the university administration to treat the matter as a priority and ensure that the re-allocation process begins without further delay.

In its memorandum, the organisation also demanded that the university release a clear timeline for the hostel re-allocation process and complete allotments at the earliest to prevent further inconvenience to eligible students.

Among those present during the submission of the memorandum were State University Work Coordinator Aman Dubey, Unit Vice Presidents Aryan Sharma and Vartika Kushwaha, Joint Secretary Soumya Shukla, along with several other ABVP members.
