Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has launched a Faceless Student System to enable students to submit and track academic service requests online, eliminating the need for physical visits to the university. Introduced on Tuesday, the initiative received an encouraging response, with nearly 300 students registering requests through the portal on its first day.

The digital platform has been designed to streamline the resolution of student grievances related to examinations, result corrections, mark sheet updates, migration, degree-related services, and other academic matters. Students can upload the required documents, submit their requests electronically, and receive a unique grievance reference number to monitor the progress of their application in real time.

A major relief for students across the state

With more than 750 affiliated institutions spread across Uttar Pradesh, AKTU caters to lakhs of students, many of whom previously had to travel long distances to the universitys Lucknow or Noida campuses for routine academic services. The new online mechanism is expected to significantly reduce travel, save time, and lower expenses for students.

Under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. J.P. Pandey, the university has implemented the portal through its ERP system to ensure a transparent and paperless grievance redressal process. Once a request is submitted, it is automatically forwarded to the concerned department for action. If any supporting document is missing, students receive an online notification, allowing them to complete the application without visiting the campus.

The university has also directed principals and directors of all affiliated institutions to encourage students to use the online platform for academic services instead of approaching the university in person.

Faster processing through digital workflow

On the first day of the launch, students visiting the universitys Student Cell from different districts were guided to use the online system for submitting their requests. The digital workflow is expected to improve efficiency by reducing paperwork and enabling quicker processing of applications.

Controller of Examinations Prof. Deepak Nagariya said the initiative would make academic services more convenient for students while ensuring faster disposal of their requests through an online process.

Students welcome the initiative

Students who used the portal on the launch day appreciated the universitys digital transformation. They noted that the online system not only removes the need to travel to the university but also allows them to track the status of their applications at every stage, making the process more transparent and student-friendly.

AKTU introduces official WhatsApp communication

Alongside the faceless grievance system, AKTU has also introduced an official WhatsApp communication channel to connect directly with students and faculty members.

Through the new service, the university will send important updates—including examination notifications, results, placement drives, and other academic announcements—directly to registered mobile numbers. Instead of receiving messages from an unidentified number, recipients will see communications sent through the universitys verified AKTU WhatsApp identity, ensuring greater authenticity and faster dissemination of information.

The twin initiatives mark another step in AKTUs ongoing efforts to strengthen digital governance, improve service delivery, and enhance the overall student experience through technology-driven solutions.
