The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the post-result review process for Class 10 students who appeared in the 2026 Main Board and Second Board examinations. Through a phased online mechanism, eligible candidates can now access scanned copies of their evaluated answer books, seek verification of marks, and request re-evaluation of specific answers within the notified schedule.

As per the boards latest notification, the process has been designed in three mandatory stages. Students must first obtain a scanned copy of their evaluated answer book before becoming eligible to apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation. The move aims to provide greater transparency by allowing candidates to review their evaluated scripts before seeking further scrutiny.

The application window for obtaining scanned copies of evaluated answer books is open from August 5 to August 9, with a fee of Rs 300 per subject. After reviewing the scanned copy, students can apply for verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both between August 16 and August 19.

CBSE has fixed the verification fee at Rs 300 per answer book, while re-evaluation will cost Rs 100 per question, including all sub-parts. Candidates opting for both services will be required to pay the prescribed fee separately for verification and each question selected for re-evaluation.

The board has advised students to carefully examine their scanned answer books before submitting any request. During the verification stage, officials will check for issues such as unevaluated answers, calculation errors, mistakes in totaling, or discrepancies in transferring marks to the final score.

Re-evaluation, however, will be limited to the specific questions identified by the student. CBSE has clarified that the outcome of the re-evaluation process—whether marks increase, decrease, or remain unchanged—will be considered final and binding.

The board has also emphasized that all applications must be submitted only through the online portal within the prescribed deadlines. No offline requests or applications submitted after the closing dates will be entertained.

Students who appeared in the 2026 Main Board examination, the results of which were declared on April 15, as well as those who took the Second Board examination, whose results were announced on July 18, are eligible to avail themselves of the post-result facilities.
