The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the launch of the 3030 Eklavya Online Series, a nationwide learning initiative designed to strengthen Computational Thinking (CT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and STEM education across schools. The programme has been developed in collaboration with the Centre for Creative Learning (CCL), IIT Gandhinagar, and aims to provide students and educators with practical exposure to emerging technologies through activity-based learning.

The eight-session online series will begin on August 15, 2026, and is part of CBSEs larger roadmap to embed AI and Computational Thinking into school education from the foundational years. The Board has been expanding its focus on future-ready education during the 2026-27 academic session through curriculum reforms, teacher training and classroom innovation.

Earlier this year, CBSE introduced a dedicated Curriculum Framework for Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence for students of Classes 3 to 8. The framework seeks to develop logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities and digital literacy from an early stage, enabling learners to adapt to an increasingly AI-driven world.

To support the implementation of the new framework, CBSE had also declared Computational Thinking (CT) and Understanding Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the official training theme for the 2026-27 academic session. As part of this effort, the Board plans to conduct more than 450 District Level Deliberations (DLDs) across the country with the support of affiliated schools, District Training Coordinators and Centres of Excellence. These deliberations are intended to familiarise educators with the curriculum and encourage its effective classroom adoption.

The newly introduced 3030 Eklavya Online Series complements these initiatives by offering inquiry-driven, interactive sessions that combine conceptual learning with practical activities. The inaugural session, titled Computational Thinking and AI with Matchboxes, will be held on August 15 at 4 PM, while the remaining seven sessions will be streamed live every Sunday at the same time.

The voluntary programme is open to teachers and students of Class 6 and above. Participation is free, although prior registration is mandatory. Participants who successfully complete the prescribed assignments will be eligible to receive a Participation Certificate by paying a fee of ₹200 plus applicable taxes.

Teachers who attend all eight sessions and meet the prescribed eligibility criteria can also obtain a Certificate of Competency for the same fee. Additionally, educators from CBSE-affiliated schools whose names are included in the CCL-IIT Gandhinagar database after successful completion of the programme will receive three Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours for each completed session under the Boards school-based training programme.

The live sessions will be conducted in Hindi, while English subtitles will be made available after the sessions are published, making the content accessible to a wider audience across the country.

With the launch of the 3030 Eklavya Online Series, CBSE is further strengthening its efforts to build AI awareness and computational thinking skills among school students while equipping teachers with the knowledge and resources required to deliver technology-enabled education in classrooms.
