Emphasising the importance of preparedness and quick, informed action during emergencies, Lucknow Public School (C.P. Singh Foundation), Ansal Branch, organised a Fire Safety Demonstration for students, teachers and staff on the school premises.

The demonstration was conducted with the objective of creating greater awareness about fire prevention, emergency response and evacuation procedures. Fire department personnel interacted with the school community and shared practical tips on how to stay safe and respond calmly in the event of a fire.

During the session, the firefighters explained the basic causes of fire, precautionary measures and the steps that should be followed immediately after a fire breaks out. They also demonstrated how to operate a fire extinguisher and safely control a fire at its initial stage.

The practical aspect of the programme drew particular attention as students, teachers and other members of the school staff were given an opportunity to operate fire extinguishers themselves under the guidance and supervision of the firefighters. The hands-on exercise helped participants understand the correct technique and reinforced the importance of acting swiftly yet carefully during a fire emergency.

The firefighters also briefed the participants on safe evacuation practices, including remaining calm, following designated evacuation routes, avoiding panic and helping others reach a safe location. The emphasis was on ensuring that students and staff are not only aware of safety protocols but are also confident enough to follow them when faced with an emergency.

The initiative provided the school community with valuable, practical knowledge that can prove crucial during unforeseen situations. By combining awareness with hands-on training, the demonstration highlighted the role of regular safety drills in building a culture of preparedness and responsible emergency response.
