The State Bank of India (SBI) has commenced the online application process for its 2026 Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) recruitment, inviting eligible candidates to apply for 1,538 clerical vacancies. The registration window is open and candidates can submit their forms until August 27, 2026.
The recruitment offers graduates an opportunity to join SBI at the Junior Associate level. The selection process will include an online preliminary examination, followed by the main examination and a test of the specified local language, wherever applicable.
Who can apply
Applicants must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification accepted by the Central Government.
Candidates pursuing their final year or semester of graduation are also eligible to apply provisionally. However, those selected under this provision will be required to produce proof of having passed their graduation examination by December 31, 2026.
For candidates holding an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD), the qualification must have been completed on or before December 31, 2026.
Age limit
The prescribed age range is 20 to 28 years as on April 1, 2026. In other words, candidates should have been born between April 2, 1998 and April 1, 2006, inclusive of both dates. Applicable age relaxation will be available to eligible reserved categories as per government norms.
Selection process and exam pattern
The recruitment process will be conducted in multiple stages. Candidates will first appear for the Preliminary Examination, followed by the Main Examination. A test of the specified local language selected by the candidate will also form part of the recruitment process.
The preliminary test will be an online objective examination carrying 100 marks, with a total duration of 60 minutes. It will assess candidates in three areas:
• English Language
• Numerical Ability
• Reasoning Ability
The examination will have negative marking. For every incorrect response in the objective tests, one-fourth of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted.
SBI has not prescribed minimum qualifying marks for individual sections or for the examination as a whole. Section-wise marks will also not be maintained.
The preliminary examination is expected to be conducted in September 2026.

Candidates belonging to the OBC category are required to pay an application fee and intimation charges of ₹750.
