The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department has opened the application process for the UP Scholarship 2026-27 for students studying in Classes 9 to 12. The application window began on August 11, 2026, allowing eligible students to submit fresh applications as well as renew their scholarships.

Students are required to complete the application process online and subsequently submit a printed copy of the duly filled form, along with the required documents, to their respective school or educational institution. The deadline for both online registration and submission of the hard copy is August 25, 2026.

Who is eligible for Scholarship?

Students seeking the scholarship must meet the prescribed eligibility conditions. The key requirements include:

• The applicant must be a domicile of Uttar Pradesh.

• The student must be pursuing studies in an educational institution in Uttar Pradesh.

• For students belonging to the General, SC and ST categories, the annual family income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.

• For OBC students, the annual family income limit is ₹2 lakh.

• Families engaged in unclean occupations are exempt from the income ceiling.

Documents required

Before starting the application, students should keep scanned copies and other supporting documents ready. These may include:

• Aadhaar card or PAN card

• Income certificate

• Domicile/residence certificate

• Birth certificate

• Marksheet of the previous class

• Fee receipt

• Scanned copy of bank passbook

• Caste certificate, wherever applicable

• Recent passport-size photograph

• Enrollment/registration number

Students should ensure that the details mentioned in their application match the information provided in their official documents to avoid issues during verification.

How to apply?

Eligible students can apply by visiting the official UP Scholarship portal and selecting the Pre-Matric Registration option. They need to register by entering the required details and then complete the online application form with their personal, academic and banking information.

After submitting the form online, students should take a printout of the completed application and submit it, along with the required documents, to their school or concerned institution within the prescribed deadline.

No application fee

The UP Scholarship application process is being conducted without any application fee. Students are advised to carefully verify their personal, academic and bank account details before final submission, as incorrect information can lead to delays or complications during document verification and scholarship disbursement.
