Six students and alumni of the Fine Arts Department of Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University have been selected for the Delhi Governments education service, bringing recognition to the universitys efforts to combine creative education with career-focused training.

The selected candidates are Avneesh Bharti (MVA, 2024), Kuldeep Verma (MVA, 2024), Mahfooz Ali (MVA, 2021), Saloni Kumari (MVA, 2022), Pushpendra Srivastava (MVA, 2018), and Pragati Jaiswal (BVA, 2023).

The achievement has added to the celebratory atmosphere on the university campus. The Fine Arts Department has been working to broaden the career prospects of its students by preparing them not only in art and creative practices but also for competitive examinations and employment opportunities across sectors.

According to the department, nearly half of its students secure placements or selections every year in government and central services, as well as in corporate and private-sector organisations. Its alumni and students are also contributing to a diverse range of fields, including scientific research institutions, engineering organisations, agricultural institutions, universities, advertising, and information and public relations.

The department has also seen its students make their way into the Delhi Governments education service in previous years, reflecting a continuing trend of graduates pursuing careers beyond conventional fine arts professions.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Singh, Registrar Rohit Singh, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Performing Arts Prof. Pandey Rajeevnayan, and faculty members Dr. Awadhesh Mishra and Dr. Sunita Sharma congratulated the selected students.

They said the achievement reflects the impact of quality education, structured training and academic guidance provided by the university. The latest selections, they added, demonstrate the potential of fine arts graduates to build successful careers in education, government services and a wide range of professional fields.
