Lucknow University to conduct NCC enrolment drive for freshers on August 22

The 64 UP Battalion NCC selection process will begin at 7 am at the universitys Athletic Ground, with physical tests, medical screening and a written examination for eligible undergraduate entrants.

Lucknow University is set to conduct its NCC Enrolment 2026 drive for newly admitted undergraduate students on August 22, 2026, offering eligible freshers an opportunity to join the 64 UP Battalion NCC. The recruitment process will commence at 7 am at the university’s Athletic Ground.

The enrolment drive is being organised by the 64 UP Battalion NCC under the supervision and guidance of ANO Lieutenant Dr Rajneesh Kumar Yadav, along with the battalions concerned officers and training staff. The selection will be conducted through a structured, merit-based process.

Physical Test to Begin Selection Process

Candidates will first undergo a physical fitness assessment. Female applicants will be required to complete a 400-metre run, while male applicants will have to run 800 metres. Those progressing through the physical stage will subsequently undergo medical screening, including height measurement and assessment against prescribed health parameters.

A written examination will form the final stage of the selection process. The test is expected to cover areas such as general knowledge, logical reasoning, current affairs, defence studies and NCC-related topics. Candidates will be assessed on their performance across the different stages before the final selection.

Dress Code and Other Instructions

Applicants have been advised to report in lower/tracksuit-style sportswear, a T-shirt and sports shoes. Male candidates should have a proper haircut and be clean-shaven, while female candidates are required to keep their hair neatly tied.

Students have also been asked to carry a lunch box and water bottle and to ensure they have eaten adequately before arriving for the recruitment process.

Documents Candidates Must Carry

Applicants should bring the following documents and items:

High school marksheet and certificate

Intermediate marksheet and certificate

Aadhaar card

Copy of bank passbook

Passport-size photographs

Notebook and pen

The university and NCC authorities have urged all eligible candidates to reach the venue on time, carry the required documents and follow the instructions issued for the selection process.

The NCC enrolment drive is aimed at identifying and training young students in qualities such as discipline, leadership, confidence, courage and a spirit of national service, while providing them opportunities to participate in camps, competitions and other NCC activities at various levels.
