Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University is preparing to launch a revamped digital platform designed to make institutional information more accessible, transparent and easier to manage. Developed entirely in-house by the Department of Computer Science, the new website brings faculty profiles, research data, departmental information, notices, admissions and administrative services together through a centralized digital system.
The platform has been developed under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, with a focus on strengthening the Universitys digital infrastructure and creating a more efficient information-management system.
One of the major changes is the introduction of role-based access, allowing faculty members and authorized officials to independently update information relevant to their responsibilities. Faculty members will receive individual login credentials through which they can maintain their academic profiles, publications, research projects, patents, achievements and other professional details. Once updated, the information will be reflected across the relevant faculty and departmental webpages.
The system will also provide dedicated access to Heads of Departments, Deans, Directors, the Controller of Examinations, Proctor, Registrar, Dean of Academic Affairs and other authorized officials. This will allow different academic and administrative units to manage their respective information while ensuring that data is centrally organized across the University website.
Prof. Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi of the Department of Computer Science said the website has been designed and developed completely by the Universitys own team. From its technical architecture and interface to the development of its various modules, the project has been executed internally, giving BBAU greater flexibility to update, maintain and enhance the platform according to emerging institutional requirements.
The centralized database is expected to make institutional information easier to locate through improved search and filtering features. It is also aimed at simplifying the compilation and presentation of data required for accreditation, rankings and institutional assessments, including NAAC and NIRF-related reporting.
Among the prominent components of the new platform are self-managed faculty profiles, individual faculty webpages, ORCID integration, an ERP administration portal, a research portal, dedicated webpages for schools, departments and centres, a programme navigator and admission portal. The website will also feature integrated notices and announcements along with online mechanisms for complaints, grievances and feedback.
The University has additionally incorporated SEO-friendly practices to improve the discoverability of its academic and research information on search engines. Designed with responsive technology, the platform will be accessible across smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop devices, making it more convenient for students, researchers, faculty members, parents and other stakeholders.
With the launch of the new website, BBAU is seeking to move beyond a conventional institutional webpage towards a more integrated digital information ecosystem. The initiative is expected to improve information flow, reduce dependence on fragmented updates and strengthen transparency and efficiency in the Universitys academic and administrative operations.
