Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) has announced the schedule for spot counselling to fill vacant seats in undergraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. The admission drive will be conducted in two phases, giving eligible CUET candidates as well as non-CUET applicants an opportunity to seek admission against the remaining seats.
The first round, Spot Counselling-I, will be held on August 27 from 10 am to 6 pm at the respective departments of the university. For undergraduate programmes offered at the Amethi Satellite Centre, the counselling process will also be conducted at the OSD Amethi Centre Office on the Lucknow campus.
This phase is restricted to candidates whose names figure in the CUET score list published on the university website. Candidates must report physically for counselling and document verification. The university has made it clear that participation after the stipulated reporting time will not be permitted.
Students who secured admission during Phase-I or Phase-II need not appear for the spot counselling. However, candidates who did not deposit their fees earlier and had sought an extension will have to be present personally for the process.
Key dates for Spot Counselling-I
August 27: Physical reporting and document verification
August 28: Merit list and fee challan generation
August 30: Last date for fee payment and completion of admission
August 31: Publication of the updated vacant-seat position
Second phase to open for CUET and Non-CUET candidates
The university will subsequently conduct Spot Counselling-II, in which both CUET and Non-CUET candidates can participate. Online registration will be available from September 1 to September 7.
Document verification of registered candidates will take place on September 8, followed by the publication of the merit list on September 9. Selected candidates will have to deposit the prescribed fee by September 10.
Importantly, September 10 will also mark the commencement of first-year classes for the new academic session.
Documents candidates need to carry
Candidates participating in the counselling process must bring self-attested photocopies of the required documents, including Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and certificates, graduation marksheet/certificate where applicable, migration certificate, character certificate, caste certificate, income certificate, EWS certificate and a valid photo identity proof.
The university has cautioned applicants that participation in spot counselling does not automatically ensure admission. Seats will be allotted strictly according to merit and the availability of seats in the respective programmes.
BBAU has advised prospective candidates to regularly check the universitys official website for updates on vacant seats, counselling instructions and any changes in the admission schedule. Applicants have also been urged to adhere strictly to the prescribed deadlines to avoid missing the opportunity for admission.
