UP Post-Matric Scholarship 2026-27: application window opens September 15; check dates, eligibility and verification process

Students from Class 11 onwards across SC, ST, General, OBC and minority categories can apply, with scholarship and fee assistance available under the state scheme.

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the schedule for the UP Post-Matric Scholarship 2026-27, providing financial assistance to eligible students pursuing studies from Class 11 onwards. The scheme covers students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), General, Other Backward Class (OBC) and minority communities, subject to the prescribed eligibility conditions.
According to the schedule, the application process will begin on September 15, 2026. Students who are already receiving the scholarship can submit their renewal applications during the specified window, while eligible students applying for the first time will have a longer deadline.
Important dates
Renewal applications: September 15 to October 15, 2026
Fresh applications: September 15 to October 31, 2026
Printing of fresh application forms: September 16 to November 2, 2026
Document verification at school/college level: September 16 to November 4, 2026
University-level verification: September 16 to November 25, 2026
PFMS verification: November 26 to December 5, 2026
Students should complete their applications well before the respective deadlines to avoid last-minute issues during submission or verification.
Who can apply for the scholarship?
The scholarship is intended for eligible students studying in Class 11 and above. Students from SC, ST, General, OBC and minority categories can apply if they meet the eligibility requirements prescribed under the scheme.
Students who received the scholarship in the previous academic session can apply under the renewal category. Those applying for the first time will have to submit a fresh application.
Details to be checked before submission
Applicants should carefully enter their personal details, academic information and institution-related details while filling out the online application. Any mismatch or incorrect information could create difficulties during the verification process.
After submission, the application and supporting documents will undergo verification at the school or college level. Eligible applications will subsequently move through the university-level verification process, followed by scrutiny through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
Scholarship amount to be transferred to Aadhaar-linked bank account
Once the application clears the required verification stages and the payment process is completed, the scholarship and applicable financial assistance towards fees will be transferred to the students Aadhaar-linked bank account, as per the schemes payment process.
Students are advised to keep a copy or printout of their submitted application safely for future reference. They should also track the verification stages and ensure that all required documents and details are available when requested by their institution.
