In a significant move to strengthen industry-oriented and globally benchmarked management education, Lucknow University has entered into a Site License Agreement with Harvard Business Publishing (HBP), bringing a wide range of Harvards renowned academic resources within the reach of its students.
Under the agreement, eligible students will be able to access Harvard Business Publishings digital learning resources without paying any additional fee. The university will bear the cost of the facility, making high-end international learning material accessible to students irrespective of their financial background.
The initiative is being positioned as a major step towards integrating globally recognised case-based pedagogy into undergraduate and postgraduate education at the university.
Who will benefit?
The facility will be available during the first and second semesters of the 2026-27 academic session to registered students enrolled in BBA and B.Com programmes, along with students pursuing MBA programmes across the universitys main and second campuses.
The MBA programmes covered under the initiative include various specialisations such as Finance and Accounting, Human Resource Management, Marketing, International Business, Business Analytics, Finance and Control, Pharmaceutical Management and Tourism Management, among others.
What will students get access to?
Through the HBP platform, authorised students and faculty members will gain digital access to a range of academic resources designed to connect classroom learning with real-world business situations.
These resources will include Harvard case studies, allowing students to examine strategic decisions, challenges and business outcomes involving companies and organisations across different industries.
Students will also have access to selected Harvard Business Review (HBR) articles and reprints, providing exposure to contemporary management thinking, business research and insights from leading academics and corporate practitioners.
The agreement will further provide access to core curriculum material, covering foundational and advanced concepts relevant to management and commerce education.
Focus on practical learning
The university expects the initiative to move students beyond conventional textbook-based learning by exposing them to real business scenarios and decision-making frameworks. Case-based learning can help students analyse complex situations, evaluate alternatives and understand the implications of managerial decisions.
According to university authorities, the exposure is expected to strengthen students analytical thinking, strategic decision-making and problem-solving abilities, while giving them greater familiarity with global business practices.
Vice-Chancellor highlights industry readiness
Lucknow University Vice-Chancellor Prof. J.P. Saini said the university aims to prepare students not merely for degrees but for leadership roles aligned with the changing requirements of the corporate and industrial sectors.
He said access to Harvard Business Publishing resources would allow students to study real-world corporate cases and global management concepts from the beginning of their academic journey. The initiative, he added, would help bridge the gap between academic learning and practical business requirements.
With the agreement coming into effect for the 2026-27 session, Lucknow University is seeking to expand the academic exposure available to its commerce and management students by bringing internationally recognised learning resources into the regular curriculum.
The move is expected to give students an opportunity to engage with globally used management content while pursuing their degrees at the university, without the additional financial burden of purchasing such resources independently.
