On the eve of Independence Day, the National Art Forums Lucknow University unit organised a cultural evening, Bharatbhoomi—Cultural Expressions of National Consciousness, at Malviya Auditorium, bringing together more than 500 students in a vibrant celebration of Indian art, heritage and patriotism.

The event featured a diverse line-up of student performances, including vocal music, guitar and Kathak, with artists using traditional and contemporary forms to express their connection with Indias cultural heritage and national identity. The auditorium resonated with patriotic and cultural themes throughout the programme.

The inaugural session was attended by Professor Raj Sharan Shahi, Special Invitee Member of the ABVP National Executive Council; Komolika Kaim, National Co-Convener of the National Art Forum; Dr Ashok Moral, President, Lucknow Mahanagar; Jai Srivastava, President of the Lucknow University unit; and Aryan Kushwaha, Unit Minister.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Shahi said Indias identity extends beyond its geographical boundaries and is deeply rooted in its culture, traditions and national consciousness. He urged young people to use their artistic abilities to carry this sentiment forward.

Komolika Kaim highlighted the role of art and culture in passing India’s heritage from one generation to another, while Dr Ashok Moral described cultural identity as a cornerstone of the nation’s collective consciousness.

Jai Srivastava said initiatives that connect students with national consciousness through creative expression are particularly relevant today. Aryan Kushwaha said the National Art Forum aims to provide young artists with platforms while strengthening their engagement with Indian art, culture and heritage.

Vartika Kushwaha conducted the inaugural session, while Anshika Rastogi, Ayushi Pandey and Rohit Maurya anchored the cultural programme.

Several ABVP and National Art Forum office-bearers, faculty and student representatives attended the event, including Dr Manjula Upadhyay, Utkarsh Awasthi, Shubham Singh Sengar, Dr Sunita Sharma, Harshika Singh, Lakshmi Pandey, Kusum Kanojia, Pushpendra Bajpai, Aditi Pal, Dhruv Singh and Shivam Verma, along with hundreds of students.

The programme served as a platform for student talent while using artistic expression to strengthen engagement with Indias cultural traditions and the spirit of national consciousness.
