Delhi Public School, Eldeco, Lucknow, celebrated Raksha Bandhan with a vibrant and meaningful special assembly that brought students together to reflect on the enduring values of love, affection, protection, respect and togetherness.

The assembly opened with an introduction to the significance of Raksha Bandhan, highlighting that the festival extends beyond the traditional tying of a sacred thread. Students were encouraged to understand it as a celebration of care, responsibility, mutual respect and the lifelong bond shared between siblings.

Adding colour and cultural richness to the occasion, students presented a series of speeches, poems, thought-provoking messages and cultural performances. Through their presentations, they portrayed the emotional essence of sibling relationships while conveying the importance of compassion, respect and mutual support.

One of the most touching moments of the celebration came when students tied Rakhis to Ms. Gunjan Sahni, Principal, DPS Eldeco, as a gesture of affection, gratitude and respect. The heartfelt gesture reflected the strong bond between the students and their Principal and added a warm, emotional dimension to the festivities.

The celebration was further enriched by a creative Rakhi-making activity, in which students enthusiastically designed colourful Rakhis while gaining an appreciation of the cultural traditions associated with the festival. The activity encouraged creativity while reinforcing values of gratitude, empathy, harmony and togetherness.

The assembly concluded with a message urging students to carry the spirit of Raksha Bandhan beyond familial relationships and embody the values of care, responsibility and support in their interactions with others and within society.
